Skyline:
As a moniker, Skyline started in the late 70’s as single and multileveled homes with southwesterly and westerly facing views, and occupies the northwestern tip of Fidalgo Island. Today, homes vary in year built, style and amenities. From seventy’s ramblers to the millennium Craftsman, Skyline definitely combines the old with the new. It is a walkable community built around the Skyline Marina, and provides access to the beach, Old Salts General Store, Flounder Bay Café Restaurant, and to Washington Park. This area stresses seaside/bay living and appeals to both young and old. Skyline is one of the most respected communities in Anacortes. Generally, Skyline includes the area between the southwestern tip of the airport, across Anaco Beach Rd and over to Washington Park.

Old Town:
As the name suggests, Old Town makes up the residential aspect of historic downtown Anacortes. An area characteristic of turn of the century living, Old Town embodies the style of architecture in its homes that were being built in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. With Craftsman and Victorians lining each block, a stroll through Old Town on a warm August afternoon exudes peaceful, small-town living. Walk to the Guemes Channel side for a beautiful sunset with your loved one or continue onto Commercial Ave into downtown for a microbrew with friends at the Brown Lantern. Generally, Old Town includes the area north of 12th street (the ferry road, or Hwy 20 spur) to the shoreline on Guemes Channel, and east to Cap Sante. Old Town homes tend to command a higher price than elsewhere near Commercial Ave. The community to the south of 12th street up to 22nd street has similar Old Town charm and history, yet are slightly less in pricing.

Cap Sante:
Similar in style and age to Old Town, Cap Sante offers both turn of the century, waterfront homes and new construction homes. Attached to the southeastern tip you will find Cap Sante Park with stunning views of Mt Baker and the town of Anacortes at sunset. Again, you have a small-town charm with downtown walkability. Cap Sante is located at the northeastern tip of Fidalgo Island.

Clearidge/Woodridge:
The majority of the homes in this community were built in the 80’s and 90’s. Clearidge offers somewhat less of a cookie cutter feel in that each home is unique in size and style. Woodridge is a Homestead community with many similar designs and a look that is more preplanned. Both areas connect both with each other and with the eastern side of the Skyline community. Although a well-respected area like Skyline, equivalent properties may not command the Skyline price. This community occupies the area just to northwest of the airport and ends at Oakes Avenue (also 12th street, starting at D Ave).

Anacortes Proper
... is a catch name given to the area just off Commercial Ave, but not quite considered Old Town. Homes of various architecture styles, sizes, age and price exist here and many offer the same walkability to coffee shops, stores, historic downtown Anacortes and, arguably most important, schools. There is zero cookie-cutter community blending the old with the new. (There is no direct link to the listings in this area. To search for homes in Anacortes Proper, go to the home page and type in a quick search price range from approximately 200k to 600k. Any homes with addresses of alphabetic avenues or numbered streets from 12th street to 32nd street are located here.)

Copper Pond:
A smaller community, basically a subdivision, Copper Pond homes come on the market and sell the next day. A very desired community especially by families with children, Copper Pond was built with a very ‘end of the road’ feel. Varied homes line cul-de-sac streets with plenty of yard space and little traffic. Despite a slight bit of a cookie cutter community, each property is different enough to make the area truly desirable. Copper Pond is located just off Anacopper Rd, due east of the airport.
Rock Ridge:
A newer community, Rock Ridge has established itself through cliff-side appeal. With stunning Guemes Channel and northwesterly views, this community combines your desires to see the water and live in the hills. The homes are varied in architectural style and all utilities are underground. Being on the hillside, only residential traffic burdens the cul-de-sac roads and when a property comes on the market, it sells quickly. Rock Ridge is located just to the east of the airport.

Sunset Cove:
A new community under current construction, Sunset Cove is one of the more eclectic areas regarding the styles of properties. The community starts with well-constructed daylight ramblers and two-story homes of varied styles and ends with waterfront mansions and luxurious highrise condominiums, called The Crest. Anything with a view here commands a high price, but get into a home without and watch the view home prices drive your value upward. A low density community that provides the ability to have the beach and Washington Park practically right outside your home. Sunset Cove is located at the northwestern tip of Fidalgo Island just prior to Washington Park.

D Ave:
This area includes several very different communities, each with their own charm. Windward is a recently completed development that couples quality construction with a patio-yard style to appeal. Typical of northwest design, these homes have a combination cedar shingle and board siding exterior and the desired hardwood flooring and granite countertop interior. Each home typically has its own private courtyard and sits adjacent to Cranberry Lake forest lands. Windward is slightly to the north on D Ave and on the western side.
Homestead is a subdivision developed in the 90’s and is named after the style of homes that were built. Very much the cookie cutter look, Homestead is a solid, versatile style of home with northwestern design and decent size lots. Don’t expect the high grade hardwood flooring or granite here unless done as an upgrade by a previous owner. Do expect a very clean and respected neighborhood, with some homes having views of Mt Baker or Guemes Channel. A great starter neighborhood and very much identical to the Woodridge area. Homestead is located mid D Ave on the western side.
Pleasant View is a subdivision currently under construction and is setting the bar on the quality for basic home packages. Hardwood, granite, 10 foot ceilings, and Jen-Aire appliances come standard with 10,000 square feet lots. Some have views, but most do not. Also, all of the single-level homes have a court yard separate the two separate wings of the home. Nothing but quality and customer service can describe these homes. A favorite of not only my clients, but a favorite of mine as well. Accessible from D Ave provides the ability to hike Cranberry Lake trails and access to I Ave makes this community close enough to walk to school, Penguin Coffee, or to our new IL Posto Italian Restaurant. Pleasant View is located slightly south on D Ave on the eastern side. Visit the model today!

A Ave:
A Ave, like D Ave combines many separate and very different communities. Fircrest is a new establishment that creates a cottage town feel through the use of cluster homes. A cluster home essentially has one main access driveway around which four homes are built. Each home has its own garage and patio yard with applicable fencing. High quality craftsmanship and good customer service make these homes very desirable. The community itself is on a cul-de-sac road and butts against the south side of the Cranberry Lake trails. Walk outside your door with the dog and kids and hit the trails at the end of the cul-de-sac for a day of fun. Little traffic worries and despite the cluster home plan, each home is situated on the lots such that it provides excellent sunlight and distance from other homes. Fircrest is located on the west side of A Ave, prior to the Havekost changeover.
Parkside was one of the first developments in this neighborhood, with large (nearly an acre) lots, wooded greenbelts, and strict CC&R's. The homes are all beautiful, with shake roofs and brick accents.

Rancho San Juan Del Mar:
This area stretches south, outside the city line on the west side of Fidalgo Island along Marine Drive and Rosario Road to Seaview. It includes the areas known as Biz Point, Alexander Beach, Seaview and The Pointe. All of the homeowners belong to the Del Mar Association which provides a community water system, moorage rights in Langley Bay, and private beach access and swimming lagoon at Alexander Beach. Homes vary in year built and size, and vacant lots do come available on occasion. If you enjoy private settings and desire morning strolls along the beach, this is the place for you. Homes are increasingly upgraded and/or rebuilt. Rancho San Juan Del Mar tends to command higher prices due to its waterfront and view settings.
Biz Point/ Langley Bay - Running along the west side of Fidalgo Island, this area is comprised of homes from different decades. Many homes offer beautiful westerly views of the San Juans and Langley Bay. The setting for most is wooded with opportunities for
privacy. This community lies outside of the Anacortes city limits but is
minutes from downtown. Properties are serviced by a community water system and
individual on-site septic systems.

Seaview - A beautiful newer development (90's) on the west side of Fidalgo with large lots for those who desire plenty of open yard space as well as some outrageous views. Various styles of architecture create a custom look in this community. Seaview is only minutes from Anacortes downtown and NAS Whidbey Air Station.

The Pointe -.This west-side community sets the benchmark for privacy and seclusion. Quality homes with exceptional views are located at the Pointe. This community offers
a variety of custom built homes for the discerning buyer. Areas of the Pointe are either
part of a community water system or serviced by the City of Anacortes with individual on-site septic systems
